A Life Poured Out for Others
As President and Chief Operating Officer of Kingsway Charities, Mary Ann Blessing led the daily work of one of the largest medical charities in the United States: receiving donated medicines in Bristol, Tennessee, and sending them out with mission teams to communities around the world that would otherwise go without.
Those who worked alongside Mary Ann knew what drove her. Her deepest desire was to see people come to Christ, and she saw every shipment that left the warehouse as more than medicine. Each box was an open door for a mission team to walk through with care in their hands and the Gospel on their lips. She believed that when a nurse treats a child's infection, or a doctor eases a grandmother's pain, hearts open, and that is where the message of Jesus finds a home.
Kingsway measures its work in numbers, and Mary Ann knew them all. But the figure she returned to, the only one she ever called the bottom line, was people helped. Not dollars distributed, not pallets shipped: people. A number on a report meant a real person in Honduras or Haiti or Kenya who was prayed over, treated, and told they matter to God.
In the Kingsway offices there is a whiteboard she kept for the team, updated in her own hand right up until her passing, with a pink note in the corner that reads “Do Not Erase.” At the top she wrote Galatians 6:9 — “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Below it she thanked the volunteers for an amazing “Harvest Year” and tracked the things that mattered most to the Kingdom and to the people we serve. The number she wrote largest of all was not a dollar figure. It was decisions for Christ. The board still hangs there, and it ends the way she ended everything: To God Be The Glory.
The Numbers She Cared About Were People

Honor Mary Ann's Memory
To honor Mary Ann, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kingsway. Every memorial gift continues the work she gave her life to: medicines for the poor, delivered by people carrying the love of Christ. Please also keep her family and the Kingsway team in your prayers.
