Volunteering at Kingsway
We have individuals of all ages who regularly volunteer at our Kingsway Charities facility. Our volunteers come from varied backgrounds and experience. They drive in from Abingdon, Gray, Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol to enjoy their time of giving. We are thankful for their help in our warehouse of activity supporting our work of International Medical Missions. The main areas that our ministry needs assistance with is sorting donated medicine and picking orders to be packed and shipped to addresses within the borders of the US. If you are a retiree from the medical field we could definitely use your help in our ministry to medical missionaries to the world. We are here Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

The Dream Team
The Thursday volunteers call themselves “The Dream Team”. The group consists of six members. Together, they have accumulated forty nine years of service. Two members of the team travel sixty miles each week to volunteer at Kingsway Charities. Another member travels forty miles weekly. While these numbers are impressive, they agree the fellowship is priceless. The team is made up of members from various backgrounds – banking, mining, teaching, pharmaceutical, and electronics. Working together, the team has become a close-knit family. They agree gathering around the lunch table, “is a time of sweet fellowship each week.”
The Dream Team’s mission is to pick and package, with accuracy, medicine and supplies for medical missionaries. The medical mission teams will address the physical problems of hurting people, as they share the love of Jesus Christ to those in need throughout the world. It is a joy to be able to serve our Lord at Kingsway Charities. What a great ‘DREAM TEAM’ we have to champion the cause of Jesus Christ. Their verse: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do; do it with thy might…” Ecclesiastes 9:10
Tiana Dockery
Kingsway Charities would like to thank Tiana Dockery, a contestant for Miss Teen International, for her dedicated work gathering medicine and medical supplies for use in developing countries. “We certainly appreciate the effort Tiana put forth collecting these medical items; she collected in excess of one thousand pounds of medicine and medical supplies which will be sent overseas to hospitals or clinics which will provide free treatment for the poor”, said Albert Hester (Director of Operations and Procurement). “We usually depend on the generosity of pharmaceutical companies and wholesale supply houses to make donations of items to our charity. I was pleasantly surprised as well as excited to see that Tiana had spent the time going to local hospitals and clinics collecting these supplies. Thanks to Tiana, those who suffer poverty and sickness in developing countries will have a chance to receive good medical care.”
We appreciate Tiana for her caring heart and wish her the very best in her efforts to achieve her life goals. It is refreshing to see young people with a desire to serve others!
